Referrals and Inclusion

Giant Steps works cooperatively with local school districts to reintegrate students into their home school on a full-time or part-time basis. The inclusion process is child specific based on the individual needs of the student. The majority of students will be fully enrolled at Giant Steps Illinois for one year prior to beginning the inclusion process.

The inclusion process involves collaboration between the Giant Steps team, the home school district team and the parents. Giant Steps will offer administrative, behavioral, educational and therapeutic support to the home school personnel. Supports will include 1:1 program assistant, inclusion facilitator, therapeutic support and Kids Helping Kids Program.
